Date night

Darrell decided he wanted to take me to eat for Mother's Day last night. We called our favorite babysitter--Katie-- and she was available, so we had a plan.:) Darrell gets home from work and asks me if I care if another couple goes with us. I said I didn't know....it depended on who it was. He told me who it was and I said I didn't care. He looked rather relieved and said, "Good because I already asked them..." Guess it was a good thing that I didn't care!!!

We then proceeded out on our "date night".  We had a wonderful time with David and Sally and talked until our waiter informed us that he was leaving....we decided that we should probably go too. On the way home, we decided to take a detour by the new KrispyKreme that is opening today on Garner's Ferry Rd. As we suspected, the crowd had already started gathering at the entrance, preparing to spend the night. I personally thought that they were absurd but...to each his own, I guess. We left there and were on the way home. We get to the light at Garner's Ferry and Pineview and the Excursion will not go any farther.....We are stuck in the middle of the intersection with nowhere to go. Darrell then proceeds to back up, at the light. Backwards was the only direction we could attempt, at this point. We did finally manage to back into the bank parking lot, where we sat for an hour, waiting for the vehicle to cool down. We did manage to coerce the Excursion home, after the cool down period but learned a valuable lesson---Whenever you break down on the side of the interstate, on your way to vacation and have to have your vehicle towed from Augusta, then you should probably think about getting it fixed before continuing to drive it.....:(
